MOVIN MARINE: The Radar m², specialized in the geophysical exploration of gold (AU) and copper (Cu) using remote sensing

The Spanish company MovinMarine founded in the year 2002, with headquarters in Empuriabrava, Girona – Spain, and in Lima – Peru, has always been tied to the sea.

Its beginnings were centered in the exploration of the depths of the sea, having successfully taken part in big national and international projects and possessing, in his extensive experience, collaborations as important as the one that they made/carried out with the company “Deep Ocean Expeditions”.

Nevertheless, as the years have gone by they have evolved to all kinds of works of geophysical exploration by means of remote sensing, with the development of its own equipment, being the mining sector one of the most important divisions which they possess. In fact, a specific department exists for the detection of gold and copper warehouses, which has catapulted them as one of the most experienced companies on the exploration of gold (Au) and Copper (Cu) deposits.

In any mining project, during the phase of exploration, geophysical technologies are needed for the identification and location of warehouses and mineral deposits. MovinMarine devotes itself to this type of investigations, extracting the best performance in the granted or free areas provided for them, to generate new mining projects.

MovinMarine is specialized in mineral deposits, fundamentally gold and copper warehouses, additionally, in the identification of water resources. For all these projects there is in use a device, air Radar, being able to issue hereby campaigns of regional exploration that allow us to cover a vast extension of territory be it geographically terrestrial or marine. The Radar M2 is an equipment which records waves of its own design and development, which operates in the bandwidth between microwave and the infrared proceeding from the most superficial layers of the terrestrial bark and which allows it to locate zones with presence of anomalies. It has a receiving aerial of polarized waves “Broadband” with a bandwidth associated with the atomic spectrum of the element in range between Gigahertz (GHz) and Terahertz (THz).

The Radar M2 air born allows it to locate areas with the presence of anomalies of mineral (Gold and / or Copper). Its capacity of penetration can come to 900 meters under the terrestrial surface, depending on the capacity of absorption of the radiations proceeding from the core of the land that imposes the typology of the surrounding area and of the typology of the prospected materials. On the other hand, it also considers the conditions of the subsoil found in the scope by the tracing of the exploration, being able to come to several kilometers of depth, depending on the type of project. The above mentioned scope depends also on other external conditions during the measurement of records, since they can be at the same height as a flight or of a the weather/meteorology.

The most interesting benefit of this technology of geophysical exploration is the possibility of exploring wide extensions of territory in a short period of time without the invasion of the studied zones, therefor obtaining an improvement of the costs associated with the safety of the personnel and the equipments, the time of response, and the affection to the environment. To be specific, a completes day work of geophysical exploration with the Radar M2, installed in a helicopter, allows us to cover a zone of 8,000 hectares, which supposes an advance of more than 2 years in the works of mining.

The use of the Radar M2 is very helpful to identify and to locate places of interest and anomalous, being its main aim to orientate the previous intensive exploration by means of terrestrial methods. During the process of tracking the information is stored, and the results obtained in geodesic fractions are discriminated, being able to detail topographically and represent in 3D plans the positioning of such results.

Presenting the results, it is possible to do so by means of a plan, with the anomalies of the Gold (Au) and / or Copper (Cu), in a two-dimensional way (a vector with the direction of the anomaly and the estimated depth) or three-dimensional (a flat surface and the estimated depth). The above mentioned anomalies are associated with the present element in the subsoil and object of the campaign of exploration.

It has been verified that the geophysical exploration effected by the Radar M2 is correct and the veracity of the results obtained in different projects (Gold) and copper (Cu), which they have come to evaluate in the last months in the regions of Lambayeque, Ancash, Lima, Ayacucho and Puno in Peru which is ideal.
